Full salary range: £58,881 to £73,290 per annum, dependent on qualifications, skills and experience

We are seeking a strong academic leader to join us at an exciting time of change to help us consolidate and expand our position as an independent institution developing tomorrow’s global leaders, entrepreneurs and innovative thinkers.

The Assistant Dean for Programmes is accountable for the integrity of all programmes taught in the Faculty of Business and Management, including Foundation, Undergraduate, and Post-Graduate (but not including the PhD).   The post holder will have two principal foci: to oversee and coordinate the Heads of Programmes in their stewardship of academic programmes, and to support the Associate Dean in his responsibilities in quality control, teaching and learning innovation, and student outcomes.  The role holder will have an underlying academic position that will require some teaching, as well as being active in research/scholarship/enterprise.  The Assistant Dean for Programmes will be a member of the Faculty Management Team, and as such, will be expected to contribute to the overall strategic development of the Faculty and provide support for the Dean.


Skills and experience required
We are looking for someone who is an established successful academic leader and has evidenced excellence in teaching and research.  In addition we are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of directly and positively promoting, managing and evaluating programmes and developing further programmes; evidence of extensive teaching experience and designing innovative and challenging learningand assessment activities; experience of quality assurance in a higher; evidence of leadership in validation and/or curriculum development; proven ability to improve student’s learning experience, progression and overall satisfaction; possession of a PhD, and is a Fellow of the HEA, (or equivalent teaching qualification, or other evidence of appropriate teaching training).  The successful applicant would also be able to apply for a title of Reader or Professor, but this would be subject to the criteria for these posts being meet and full internal and external review.
